“Creatures in Heaven Sheet Music”
A twelve-note scale and a metered sheet music isn't capable to express the sound of “Creatures in Heaven” with its layered vocal and digitally generated inflections.
The track is transcribed in the original key, D Major, and uses basic major and minor chords D G A Bm.
Its cyclical chord change (loop) highlights melodic development.
Alterations to the chord change create harmonic ambiguity and secondary colors.
The vocals are typed using the 𝄠 suboctave clef (the treble clef with the numeral 8 below it). Sing one octave lower than written but play in any octave you prefer. I don't like playing the right hand in the third octave.
I doubled note values to make sightreading easier for beginners.
“Creatures in Heaven” is composed with a straight rhythm in common time. Accent strong beats.
The left-hand provides an accompaniment. Play any pattern here (chords, arpeggios, tremolo, ostinato).
The right hand imitates vocal delivery by Dave Bayley of Glass Animals: a predominant articulation is tenuto. Separate phrases with hand lifts.
Pitch inflections (slurred notes) are played quietly.
The false ending of the bridge releases tension so the repeated chorus doesn't sound dull after the louder and intense part.
