“The Challenge” Sheet Music

Please, notice that there are two files (for easy solo piano and duo for piano and voice). Print them both.

🎹 Original lyrics and harmony chords are included in the sheet music.

“The Challenge” is transcribed in the original key, E Major, and uses extended and inverted major and minor chords.

Alterations to the chord change create harmonic ambiguity and secondary colors.

“The Challenge” is composed with a straight and not so straight rhythm in common time. Accent strong beats.

Avoid learning both hands together in the very beginning; you will fail immediately and abandon the score.

Imitate vocal delivery by Anna Lea Casey as Penelope: a predominant articulation is tenuto non-legato.

She uses cercar della nota, a vocal techniques when you sing neighboring notes before hitting the intended note. That's why in slurred syllables play the first notes more quiet than the last (longer) notes.
