Exactly 25 years ago I saw Adolphe Adam's ballet Giselle. It was my first ballet performance I saw.
The track is composed in C Major but transcribed in G Major that fits children's and women's voices, and uses extended major and minor chords. The harmony employs distantly related chords.
The vocals are typed using the 𝄠 suboctave clef (the treble clef with the numeral 8 below it). SIng one octave lower than written.
“O Holy Night” is composed with a straight rhythm in compound time 6/8. Accent strong beats but do it softly.
Avoid learning both hands together in the very beginning; you will fail immediately and abandon the score.
The left-hand fulfills an accompanying role.
A predominant articulation of the right hand is legato. Make sure the sound is not muddy and lift your leg often from the sustain pedal.
