"The Nutcracker" is a ballet composed by Pyotr Illych Tchaikovsky. The "March" is the opening piece depicting children playing soldiers at a Christmas party and having a good time.
Tchaikovsky's last ballet premiered at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg in 1892.
