The track is transcribed in the original key, E Major.
Notice the friction between melody and harmony that leads to blurring of the harmonic center and an ample sound.
The progression is cadential.
“Actor” is composed with a straight rhythm in the common time. Accent strong beats.
Avoid learning both hands together in the very beginning; you will fail immediately and abandon the score.
The left-hand maintains movement with chords tremolo and ostinato.
The right hand imitates vocal delivery by Conan Gray: the predominant articulation is staccato.
The vocals are typed using the optional 𝄠 suboctave clef (the treble clef with the numeral 8 below it). Play the right hand at written pitch but sing one octave lower than written.
Conan sings with a lot of inflections by means of portamenti or passing notes. It is called "Il cercar della nota", searching for a note, some musicians say it has no aesthetical reasons and only used to help the singer be on pitch on the next note. Play the tied notes very lightly.
I noticed how much the delivery by Gray reminds me of Gerard Way's from My Chemical Romance.
